Erechtheion Temple
The Erechtheion Temple, built in the 5th century BC, is a part of the Athens landmark, Acropolis. It originally consisted of three temples that were joined into one - looking at the temple you can easily tell the difference between the three constructions. The most famous part of this site is a hall supported by the statues of the curvaceous bodies of yound maiden, the caryatids. Although they are copies (the originals are part of museum exhibitions all over the world), this fact doesn’t drain them of the mysterious and mystical beauty. There is a legend related to the place on Athena and the growth of the first olive tree. The temple is especially impressive with the night lightning.
