The colossal construction of Olympeion, dedicated to the God Zeus, or more precisely its ruins, are located in the Greek capital - Athens. At its time it used to be greatest of all the sanctuaries and even nowadays it is the most significant existing treasure of its kind. The visitors can admire its 13 columns rising one next to each other to the height of almost 20 metres, 2 other columns standing short way off, and one more fallen column between these two. Originally there was more than one hundred of those gigantic columns though. Despite being constructed in the 2nd century BC, they have been quite well preserved.
