Benaki Museum
The Benaki Museum, founded by an important Greek figure, Antonis Benakis, is situated in the Greek capital - Athens in the Attica region. With his enthusiasm of a collector, Benakis managed to create a collection of exhibits covering a long period from the Stone Age till the 20th century. The exhibition is located in the founder’s villa, belonging also to the architectonically interesting city edifices. The museum organizes educational events for both children and adults, and in the souvenir shop, you can buy a maquette of some of the unique objects exhibited. Another new important section of the museum is the part dedicated to Islamic art. You can enter the museum for a fee (with a discount for children and the elderly).
