Given its position on the sea coast, Greece has become a country with a long-time maritime tradition, and obviously both local inhabitants and experts have been trying to map and document this part of Greek history and expose it to the world. This is how the Maritime Museum was founded. The exhibition offers several thousands of books, models of ships, weapons, paintings, flags, maps, and other objects used by sailors. The museum can be accessed for a fee and it is open daily except Sundays.
