Olynthos
In the place where today’s town of Olynthos can be found in the south-western part of the Chalkidiki peninsula, there used to stand a settelement founded in the 7th century. Yet it was damaged after many turns of history, and so today, only remains of it can be seen, including the perimeter walls indicating where the houses stood and where the narrow streets passed through. In some places, floor mosaics with scenes from Greek mythology and ornaments were preserved, some of which are now exhibited in the local archaeological museum (although most can be found in the Archaeological Museum in Polygyros). You can also see there a multimedia screening on the site.
