The museum dedicated to anthropology can be found in petralona west of the capital of the Chalkidiki peninsula on Polygyros. It was founded more than 30 years ago and includes exhibits related to research and history if the inhabitants and their life on the peninsula. One part deals with the cave in Petralona and the local finds, while another is dedicated to the remains of the prehistoric civilization, including millions of years old objects used by then. There is also a thematic library.
