The Archaeological Museum of the Chalkidiki Peninsula can be visited in its very capital, Polygyros. Its collections include archaeological discoveries from the local sites, e.g. the famous Olynthos but also the capital and other places. The various objects cover all the history of the territory since the very beginning, dating back to the prehistoric Stone Age. The visitors can see typical painted vases and more ceramics, jewellery, statues, burial objects and parts of tombs, weapons and photographs accompanied by an explanation and expert texts on the subject.
