Kalami
Kalami Resort
The small but charming resort of Kalami located on the north-east coast of Corfu that became famous for the successful book by Lawrence Durrell who spent there a part of his childhood, is typical with its romantic bay with crystal clear water. The location is also a favourite place of the Pink Floyd band, while Prince Charles became fond of the nearby Kouroula Bay. Today the town is sought after mainly by British tourists and there is the biggest concentration of swimming pools on the whole island - it could almost be said that every newly built house has a swimming pool.
Activities and tourist background
One of the walking destinations in the town is the picturesque bay that was the setting of several Bond movies, and till nowadays, you can find there Gerald Durell´s White House with a pension and a taverna. In Kalami, you will find nice tavernas, cafés, and also a few shops.
Beach
The about 250 m long sand and pebble beach with complete beach service, a boat rental service and a centre of water sports (especially water skiing), is usually very frequented during the high season; yet except for the summer months, it is calm and peaceful.
