Agia Triada
Agia Triada
Agia Triada was long considered to be the seat of the Phaistos ruler. The varied and rare finds, the frescoes more beautiful than the mural paintings from Festos indicate that it used to be the very residence of the Minoan ruler. The Agia Triada complex was built in 1550 BC and it was connected with festos with a paved road. At the foot of the hill, a necropolis with two dome-like tombs was discovered. From the west side of the finds, there is a splendid view on the Komplex Ag. Triada byl vybudován v r. 1550 př. n. l., s palácem Festos ho spojovala dlážděná silnice. Na úpatí kopce byla nalezena nekropole s 2 velkými kupolovými hroby. Od západní strany vykopávek je nádherný výhled na 3km distant sea and the south coast of Crete, while on the other side, there rises the mountain massif of Psiloritis.
Location
Agia Triada can be found in the osouth of Crete 3 km west of Festos and about 4 km east of the town of Tymbaki.
