From the height of 300 m, you can watch the surrounding landscape from the remains of the Doric castle of Polyrrinia from the 8th century BC. In the ancient times, it was one of the most significant settlement of the west Crete. Its name means ´many herds´. A part of the preserved ramparts is of a Venetian origin.
