The Maridati Beach is a beautiful place on the east coast of Crete. The beach can be found only a bit in the north of Palekastro and near the beaches of Chiona and Kouremenos. You can get there walking from Palekastro or by car, yet the road is in a really poor condition, and so, if you don’t have an off-road vehicle, you should better park your car near the road and go down walking. The Maridati Beach provides both the view on its splendid surroundings but also enough shade among the tall trees. It is not really well-known among the tourists, and so, the best is to visit it during the week as it is sought-after by the locals for its peace and beauty.
