Vai
Vai Beach
A sandy and palmy beach with a large paid car park for the crowds of tourists. The beach is a target of bus trips from tourist resorts organized by travel agencies. The bigger part of the date palm grove is enclosed with a fence, serving as a scientific laboratory; so you can only access the palm trees on the coast. On the rock promontory above the beach in about 25 m, there is a lookout, offering a view on the whole bay.
This natural palm grove is said to have existed already in antiquity. Especially during the top season, the beach is overcrowded and the tavernas overpriced.
