The average depths of the beaches is said to rank between 1-1.5 m. About 18 km from the east coast of Ierapetra, the small islands of Gaiduronísi and Kufonísi emerge from the water. Chrisi is a relatively small island - it has about 5km2 - and there are various options of enjoying your stay. You can just lie on the beach and savour rhe splendid sand and water, and the view on Crete in the distance, or you can go for a small hiking tour and walk the island all around. On Chrisi there are about 10 km of signposted tracks.
The island of Chrisi is very flat and its average altitude is about ten metres. Its highest point is a small 31 m high hill called Kefala. There is a lookout from where you can see the whole island.
