The Agia Triada Monastery - the Holy trinity Monastery - was built in the 17th century and it is one of the most remarkable and largest monasteries on Crete, inhabited by monks till nowadays. It is also called Moni Tzangarolou according the who Venetian brothers and its founders who converted to rothodox religion. In 1821, the monastery was burned by the Turkish and restored later. The complex served as a scenery for the famous movie Zorba the Greek.
