Pyles
Pyles village
The mountain village of Pyles can be accessed from the west coast on steep tarmac hairpin road, with beautiful views opening up in front of you Despite not offering any special tourist attractions, Pyles has its romantic charm. On your walks among the houses decorated with flood of flowers, you can savour the charm and peace of the local environment and explore the secluded places and details that seem to have been made for photographers. The place worth visiting is the little church of Saint Cross with a few icons and the motif of the Saint Cross of which the remains are said to have been discovered in Jerusalem by Saint Helena, mother of Constantin the Great according to a legend. The decorated well under the church supplies with water the local gardens full of orange, almond, pomegranate and olive trees. In the village there are also two kafenios on the main streets with irregular opening hours.
