The museum offering an insight into the life of the local inhabitants throughout centuries can be found in the town of kefalos in the south-west part of Kos, i.e. on the opposite side of the island territory than the capital. Since the locals traditionally lived by farming, most of the collection is focused on this field. Yet it doesn´t only shed some light on the farming and other working activities, including the tools and utensils used to grow crops and breed animals but also the life in the coutryside as such; which is represented by artistic objects made by people in their free time after work, including ceramics, embroideries, or hand-made fabrics.
