Kapsali Resort

Kapsali is an adorable small port and a tourist resort on the south coast of Kythira Island, located only about 3 km of the capital. It belongs to the most beautiful places on the whole island territory, and it is also the most developed site from the tourist point of view. Its kind of ‘double bay’ forms a unique scenery of the dark blue sea water, goldish beaches, snow-white houses, green forests, and majestic rocks. Morevoer, Kapsali coast is one of the few places where Aphrodite, the beautiful goddess of love and conception, is said to be born. Obviously the place has accommodation facilities, mainly hotels and private pensions, catering facilities such as restaurants, bars, tavernas and cafés, and the possibility to go shopping, including local shops and markets. 

Kapsali beaches

Kapsali beaches are formed by sand and pebbles, although the surroundings are decorated with colourful rocks and little green vegetation. Despite the beach being well protected against unpleasant cold wind, the beach is still windy enough so that the lovers of water sports could practice there some of their favourite activities, including windsurfing, water skiing or a boat ride. Of course you will also find there umbrellas and deckchairs. Water in Kapsali is deep blue, nicely clean, and calm. Yet during the peak season, the beaches may become crowded with holiday-makers, and so, if you are searching for a bit of privacy, there are small bays or little islands nearby where you can relax alone.
