Monastery of Limonos
Almost in the very heart of Lesbos near the town of Kalloni, you can find the Monastery of Limonos from the 16th century amidst the flood of greenery of a mountain valley. In the past, there was also a school for the local inhabitants. In its premises, you can find a temple richly decorated with gold, paintings and icons from different periods. Today some of its parts serve as a museum and you can see there precious artifacts from the religious and cultural history of the island. Another unique place is without any doubt its library numbering thousands of precious books, documents and manuscripts, some of them even adorned with genuine gold.

Nádherný klášter se zajímavou stavbou uvnitř,kolem které je ohrádka a dvířka s nápisem. Ženám vstup zakázán. Hlídá tam mnich a skutečně,ženy tam nesmějí. Již 300 let tam noha ženy nevstoupila.
