Kalambaka

The little calm mountain town of Kalambaka is famous basically only for the proximity of the Monasteries of Meteora. There is a fascinating view on them from the town where you can also stay in some of the local hotels or pensions. On the rather busy main streets, you will find most tavernas, cafés and shops. Except for the monasteries, there is also a Church of the Virgin Mary in the town. Kalambaka is divided from Kastraki located 2 km far by the mount Agia.
