Lichnos - Parga
Parga - Lichnos Resort
The charming port and the small town of Parga stretches on the north-west coast of the Greek mainland, washed by the Ionian Sea. In the proximity, you can find the popular island of Corfu. The municipality can boast typical Greek architecture, similar to the one you can find in seaside resorts. It consists of colourful houses built in a cascade on a slope above a blue bay surrounded by green olive trees and rocks. Moreover, the rich history left there many traces, today admired by thousands of visitors; including a Venetian castle from the 11th century.
Lichnos beaches
Nonetheless, one of the biggest Parga attractions are its beaches, e.g. Lichnos located only 4 km away from the town. In this area, the Aegean Sea creates all shades of blue, and it is exceptionally clean. The white and goldish stretch of fine sand with an admixture of rather big pebbles can be found all along the coast, where hundreds of years old olive trees grow. On the beach you will find facilities like showers and the possibility of practicing water sports (water skiing, paddle boats, diving and snorkelling, and surfing). There are also enough opportunities to refresh yourslf or to taste traditional Greek cuisine, with some of the restaurants being open till late at night. Otherwise life calms down in the resort after the sunset, with people going only for walks on the coast. Those who love fishing can fish in the local sea waters. In the Lichnos surroundings, you will also find little abandoned bays where you can get or by boat taxi or walking across a hill. You can also bathe there naked.

Parga - Lichnos surroundings
As far as accommodation is concerned, in Lichnos you can choose from the facilities near the beach where you can stay in a rented toom, or use the local campsite with all the necessary equipment.
The resort surroundings abound in historical sites. The best option is to rent some means of transport - a car, a motorbike or a bicycle, and set off to explore the surroundings on your own. Those who like walking can also make a walking trip around Parga. If you want to explore the places that cannot be accessed on dryland, you can rent a boat or a paddle boat and visit the cave where the very goddess of Aphrodite is said to have been bathing.
