The Folklore Museum of Paxos Island that can be found in the port town of Gaios in a former school building, covers all the important milestones of the local history with its collection of objects depicting the life of the local inhabitants since ancient till more recent times. And so, you can find there almost everything, including rests of fossils, ceramics, weapons and tools from the era of the Venetian and the British rule, but also olive presses and utensils needed to prepare olive oil. The museum is open only during several months of the year from May to October.
