Lakka Resort

The resort of Lakka is hidden among the green vegetation of the northernmost tip of Paxos Island. Although this village is still a place of the fishermen, it is one of the very popular summer holiday resorts, and so, it lives still more and more on tourism.

Who is Lakka suitable for?

Lakka is a perfect place for all who like beaches but also like to go for a trip or a hiking tour from time to time. The beautiful nature in the village surroundings, formed by olive groves, has been made for that. From the green peaks of the hills, you can enjoy a nice view on the beaches and the sea surface, coloured by various breathtaking hues of blue.

The beaches, protected against strong wind by the surrounding hills, are sandy on the sea bottom and pebbly on the land. Some of them can be easily accessed by land, while other require using a boat or a scooter. The most famous beaches include Kanoni, Harami, Plani, Orkos, Lakos or Glyfada. Those who are adapted to tourists offer various water sports like water skiing, paddle boats or boat rides, windsurfing, or you can dive under the sea surface and feast your eyes on the colours of the mysterious depth of the sea. If you are en experienced diver, you can track the sunken shipwrecks or see some of the caves.

What to do in Lakka?

In the calm village of Lakka, you can walk through the narrow streets to the port. Refresh yourself with a delicious dish in some of the local tavernas, cafés or restaurants, buy some trifles in a souvenir shop, and set off for a trip. You can walk, or go on a (motor)bike, by car or by boat. There are car hire companies in Lakka, so you certainly won’t need to haul all your equipment. The island is perfect for hiking tours as it is small and it can be walked all through. On your way through Paxos, you can encounter a lighthouse, windmills, olive groves, old fortifications or churches. In the evening after exploring the island, take a rest in the rhythm of life music in some of the night bars. Another thing you can do is renting a motorboat and sail around the whole island, going up to the nearby Antipaxos.
