Costa Navarino Resort

Costa Navarino is not a classical Greek resort that would emerge out of a port or a small coast village but a newly built splendid complex of little villas, studios and suites. So, there is not really much to be written about the resort, as it has grown quite recently. To get a better idea, take a look at the accommodation options.

The whole complex is located on the west coast of the Peloponnes, approximately in the middle of north-south axis. The local beaches have a beautiful sandy surface.

Navarino Dunes is a new luxury compound in the region of Messinia on the south-west of the Peloponese in a place with a 4 500 years old history, still unaffected by mass tourism. The compound is situated around a bay with an almost one kilometre long splendid sandy beach near indented coast with small bays protected by rocks. In the landscape where olives and grapes have been grown since time immemorial, many remains from the Mycenaean era can be found, just like the ruins of classical ancient temples, medieval castles and byzantine churches.

The administrative centre of Messinia, the town of Kalamata, is located about 45 km far away, while Athens can be found 250 km far. The nearest port town of Pilos is located 14 km far and the village of Gialova 6 km far where you can get by a hotel bus offering transport several times a day.

The modern complex of Navarino Dunes is being built little by little on the surface of 13 ha in conformity with ecological aspects to not to damage local nature. Within its philosophy, the complex aims to be a perfect place for relaxation, sports and entertainment with respect to the local fauna and flora so that its visitors can have a rest in harmony with nature. In the carefully maintained compound with plenty of green vegetation, two hotels have been built so far: The Westin Resort and The Romanos Luxury Collection Resort.

Costa Navarino: Sports activities

Except for playing golf in The Dunes Course club, visitors can practice a range of other sports activities. The hotels organize cycling and hiking tours, or the increasingly popular nordic walking tours in the surrounding landscape. In the local sports academy, you can improve your skills of playing tennis, table tennis, badminton, squash, or get to know new kinds of sports like speedminton, padel or beach tennis. There is also a basketbal court and a squash, bowling and fitness centre. On the beach, you can practice ´non motorized´ water sports including windsurfing, rent a paddle boat, a canoe, or play beach voleyball.

The resort work on the lunch and dine-around system, meaning that the hotel guests who have bought a half board or a full board can receive one meal daily in another restaurant within the complex.

Costa Navarino shopping and entertainment

Both resorts have a common shopping and entertainment centre, Agora, considered to be the local meeting place. Except for a few bars and restaurants, there is also a Greek amphitheatre, a library and a car rental service. Of course, you will find there shops with an interesting offer of handmade jewellery and works of art, a bookshop, a goldsmith´s shop, a perfumery with bio cosmetics, a toyshop and a shop with children´s clothes made of organic cotton. The offer is completed by boutiques with men´s and women´s clothes of famous brands, including beach equipment.

Restaurants in Agora

In the centre of Agora, you can savour Greek coffee and traditional pastry in Kafenio & Deli, sit in the 3 Admirals pub, or get some typical Greek fastfood - gyros and souvlaki in pita bread. There is also an italian restaurant, La Luigi, with pizza and spaghetti, or The Dinner in the American 1950s restaurants style. For golf players, there is a restaurant called Flame as a part of the golf club.

Resort background for children

The resort offers various activities for different age groups: the smallest children from 4 to 8 years can visit the Cocoon Centre with trained staff that will help them to develop their skills, while children between 4 and 12 years can have fun in the sand castle where interesting fun activities and games have been prepared for them.

Relaxation stays

On its surface of 4 000 m2, the exclusive Anazoe spa centre offers a wide choice of special healing procedures for a general relaxation, revizalization and rejuvenation, including thalassotherapy and massages making use of rich natural resources. The centre focuses mainly on oleotherapy making use of olive oil according to the methods used already in the ancient times. The centre also includes a sauna with herbal steam, an ice cave and various kinds of massage showers. You can also use all kinds of cosmetic services including manicure and pedicure.
