Filerimnos

On the Filerimnos hill, you will find a well-known cross that can be seen even from the main road passing from the airport all around the island. The cross serves as a lookout from where you can see a great part of the island with its green interior, seaside resorts, and the two airports (the old and the new one). You walk also walk there through an impressive Way of the Cross passing through a pine avenue up to a small chapel. The monastery is not completely accessible, you can only anter the church and the lookout a bit above the gallery. The monastery can be accessed for a fee. Near Filerimnos, you will also find ruins of an old acropolis.

How to get to Filerimnos?

To Filerimnos, you can go walking from Kremasti or Ialyssos, with the last 4 kilometres passing on a hairpin path up to a hill.
