Close to the village of Laerma, you will find the monastery dedicated to the Archangel Michael. It was built in the 13th century, making use of the church built already before. You can admire there beautiful frescoes depicting scenes both from the Old and the New Testament, mostly from the 16th and 17th century. Today the monastery is completely modernized, it even has its own religious TV channel. It has two new churches, a fully equipped residence hall for students as well as vast space reserved for the monks.
