The charming interior village of Emporio lies near the Gavrilos hill with ruins of windmills. It is a typical example of Cycladic architecture where you can walk through a maze of crooked stone-paved streets with little white houses huddling together. The houses have their typical blue paint on doors and windows. You will  find there romantic secluded places and see at least something of the original rural atmosphere.

Above the village, there rises an old Venetian fortress, with a considerable part of the ramparts, defence towers and the palace being preserved.
