The MOnastery of Evangelistria can be found in the interior of Skiathos in the mountains in the north, only a few kilometres from the capital. It is a charming edifice built from light brown stones and its uneven roof of the same colour has an interesting solution. it can be found amidst green hills and is always surrounded by colourful flowers. The monastery was founded two hundred years ago, and it has quite a rich history. In its interior, you can see rare frescoes and mural paintings completed by artistic wood cravings. It also hides a monastery library with rare books and documents. Besides all that, in the exhibition part, you will find some religious objects and relics of the saints.
