Bourtzi
Bourtzi is a medieval fortress from the 13th century covering a part of the little peninsula in the port of the Skiathos capital. The edifice lies amidst a flood of deep green pine trees reflecting on the clear sea water. The fortress was built during the Venetian dominion, with only remains of it being preserved till nowadays. Originally it was much bigger, surrounded by a defence wall, and it had watchtowers to see the possible raids from the sea on time and the obligatory church inside. Today there is a school where different cultural events are held. The surroundings of the peninsula are really charming and from all places, whether you are standing on it or watching it from the coast on the opposite side, you will be feasting your eyes on unforgettable sceneries.
