The legacy of this remarkable figures of Greek history, Alexandros Papadiamantis, a writer and a poet, can be found on several places onthe island - the local airport was named after him, for example. In his house in the very centre of the island capital (being at the same time the only place on the island where a museum collection can be found), you will find objects from his rich life. The museum is open daily except Mondays.
