The Monastery of St. Barbara

The female Monastery of St. Barbara lies in the blissful peace of Syros Island near the village of Kini on the west coast. Besides religious icons and other artefacts, you can see there traditional hand-made fabrics. Those are the resut of the honest work of the local nuns, weaving the fabrics on the original looms and selling the results of their work to the public.
