The Archaeological Museum of Syros Island can be found in the capital of Ermoupolis, and it is one of the oldest museums not only on the island and the whole Cyclades, but also the whole Greece. It was built ore than 170 years ago. You can see there prehistoric objects from the local sites, especially from Chlanadriani (also called Khalandriani), including many statues, tombstones, and other artefacts from various eras of the island history. The museum is open daily except Mondays and holidays. It can be accessed for a fee and it offers a discount for children and students under 18.
