Batsi
Batsi resort
The seaside resort of Batsi situated in the south-west part of the Greek island of Andros is the main local tourist destination and statistically, it is the most visited place of this picturesque piece of land in the midst of azure sea water.
Originally a fishing village, Batsi did change to a popular holiday resort offering all kinds of services, yet it managed to keep its original beauty and Greek traditions the visitors are so fond of. The typical white little houses form a fascinating mosaic on the slope above the port, while yachts and little boats are arriving idly.
Batsi beaches
The main local beach is a fine sandy one, and it is rightly called the Golden Beach, for its yellowish sand becoming goldish under the sun rays. The access to the water is not steep, and so, it is perfect also for small children and non-swimmers. You can find there the standard equipment such as deckchairs and umbrellas you can rent for a small fee. Like on most similar beaches, there are also many possibilites of water pleasures including surfing, diving, boat trips, paddle boat rides, scooter rides, and more. Along the beach, you will find tavernas and restaurants to satisfy all your tastes.
For those who prefer to enjoy more peace and privacy, there is nothing easier than choosing one of the many beaches in the surroundings: Stivari, Chryssi Akti, Agia Marina or Kolona, each of them with their unmistakable charm. Their main advantage is that given the small area of the resort, they are all accessible without the use of any means of transport - you can just make a nice walk there. If you are more adventure spirited and want to make a small trip, you can visit some of the remote beaches that can be easily reached by boat or a scooter.

It goes without saying it has many restaurants and tavernas, but also nightclubs, several shops, rental companies (cars, bicycles, motorcycles), tourist information centre, pharmacy, medical centre, cinema, and bank. The little cafés on the square invite you for a sit-down - they are perfect for a small refreshment - in the morning they prepare tasty breakfasts, in the afternoon you can nip out there for a delicious drink and a snack, and in the evening for something sweet.
