This picturesque village with paved streets situated 200 metres above sea level can be found about 6 kilometres from the capital town of Chora. Menites is renowned for being a green oasis due to its springs of clear water (which spew from lion fountainheads).  A trip to the village is a very nice and refreshing experience especially during the hot summer days. Its whole surroundings are perfect for hiking, with the favourite destinations of the Panachrantou, Pitrofos-Paleopoli and Lamyra-Chora monasteries. All those places are quite easily accessible.
