Saint Theodoroi Lighthouse, also known as Fanari, is located near the Katavothres windmills on a small peninsula north-west of the capital, Argostoli, and north of the resort of Lassi. It is an unusual building resembling a white pavilion surrounded by columns. The best time to visit this place is in the late afternoon when the sun goes down. You will encounter an amazing sight of the sun´s rays penetrating through the columns of the lighthouse, while the limestone rocks on the opposite side will change their colour into warm orange. The interesting thing is that the whole surrounding region was named after this very lighthouse restored in the 19th century, and not the other way around as it is usually the case.
