Glyfada
The beach in Glyfada is a purely sandy one, with the reflection of the sun’s rays changing its colours into goldish. The slope into the sea is very gentle, and so, it is also suitable for non swimmers and small children. Yet in some places further from the coast, you need to be careful about undercurrents typical for the west coas, so parents should really keep an eye on their children. The beach is quite safe as it lies away from busy roads though. The water there is crystal clear and so it is no wonder it can boast the award of the EU, the Blue flag, for top quality. The beach is also guarded by lifeguards.
Alongside you will obviously find bars and restaurants with refreshment. And since the beach is frequently visited, it offers all the necessary comfort; including deckchairs, umbrellas, toilets, showers and changing cubicles. Those who prefer a more active holiday won’t certainly be disappointed either, as they can choose from the wide range of water sports including diving, water skiing, but also windsurfing or driving a motorboat. Those of a more adventurous nature can try diving into the water from one of the surrounding rocks. On dry land, you can often see people playing beach volleyball. The beach is also equipped for the disabled.

The beach can be found in the resort of Glyfada, located on the west coast of Corfu and being one of the most popular places on the island with its long sandy beach and perfect conditions for bathing and relaxation. With its steep rocks, olive groves and turquoise sea, the surrounding nature is especially charming and completes the atmosphere of the whole place that has been made for a calm holiday.
