In 1973, a unique discovery was made in Figaretto. Archaeologists found there a gable resembling those that were placed on ancient temples, and therefore it is supposed that in the 6th century BC, a significant ancient edifice used to stand in the place. You can see the gable wall in the Archaeological Museum in the Corfu capital. Since the gable has a representation of the god Dionysus on it, it is probable that the temple was one dedicated to Dionysus (on which we can find mentions in historical sources only).
