Kantouni Resort

Kantouni is one of the most popular resorts on Kalymnos. Which is not surprising at all since it has a perfect position - it can be found only a few kilometres from the capital where tourists arrive on ferries, boats or planes, and with its location on the south-west sand coast, it has a nice surface of the beaches and a crystal clear sea of a beautiful colour. Moreover, the road infrastructure on the island is quite good, and so the resort has a regular bus connection with the capital and other resorts. 

What to do in Kantouni

Although the resort is located in one of the few valley regions of the island, you will still find there the omnipresent scenery of the mountain ranges forming nice surroundings of a holiday resort with a typical Greek island landscape. Like most summer resorts, Kantouni is well equipped for the tourists, too. In the local shops you can buy everything you need, including groceries and souvenirs. In the catering facilities, delicous local specialities, good wine and the Greek beverage ouzo are served.

Despite being a popular and still developing resort, Kantouni is still quite peceful, making the island a perfect destination for summer relaxation on the seacoast. Those who like a more lively entertainment need to go a few kilometres further to the capital of Pothia that has plenty night spots including bars and discos.

The local beach has only a gentle slope, and so it is suitable also for unexperienced swimmers, children and those who like to indulge in the warm shallow water.
