The Agios Ioannis beach is a long stretch of sand on the coast, transforming itself into a flood of gold under the reflection of the sun´s rays. The shallow water is turquoise and completely clear, while further in the depth, it creates different shades of blue including a very dark one, while the surrounding hills are drowning in the rich green vegetation of olive groves. With its character, it almost resembles the Caribbean. When you set off for a walk on the beach, you will arrive at old windmills, further intensifying the magical atmosphere of the place.

Since the beach is very long, its character depends on where exactly you are. In some places where the weather conditions are good, you will find a concentration of water sports lovers who need strong wind (windsurfing is very popular in the area, with its fans gathering in clubs and the local rental services offer all the necessary equipment). The beach surface varies, too - somewhere you can find more little stones and pebbles, also on the seabed, while in other places you will encounter sand dunes. Other parts of the beach are more suitable for sunbathing and swimming in the sea, where you can rent an umbrella and a deckchair and indulge in holiday relaxation. Obviously there is a lifeguard and enough options of refreshment in the nearby tavernas and bars. Yet what all the parts of Agios Ioannis have in common is the crystal clear and refreshing water.
