Agios Ioannis Resort

The tourist resort of Agios Ioannis (St. John´s) is located in a bay of the same name on an indented south-western promontory of Mykonos, only 4.5 km from the island capital. From the coast of the bay surrounded by picturesque hills covered with low green vegetation, you can see up to the opposite island of Delos.

The local beach boasts with fine sand tempting for (sun)bathing in the shallow water of the Aegean Sea. it is said to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the surroundings. The layer of sand stretches to the distance, being interrupted by small bays only. The water there is, just like in other resorts on the island, clean and crystal clear. For this and other reaons, Agios Ioannis is a popular family resort, yet the others won´t get bored there either.

What to do in Agios Ioannis?

The resort has a wide choice of accommodation facilities, including rather expensive hotels but also suites for several people including a kitchen to prepare meals on your own. If you don´t want to cook though, you can visit some of the local tavernas and restaurants which you will really enjoy, especially if you like fish and seafood. Nonetheless, there are also places offering international cuisine so there is something for everyone. The adults can taste delicious wine and the traditional Greek beverage, ouzo. Some spots offer offer entertainment with music and dance and they are often open till the morning. Yet you will find the biggest choice of night entertainment in the island capital with plenty of discos and night bars, including LGBT bars. You can go shopping to some of the few local shops and markets, whether you are looking for souvenirs or foodstuffs. Again, you will find more variety in the island capital.
