Cape Columbo
The Cape Columbo beach is one of the most beautiful and peaceful beaches on Santorini. It lies on the very north, and so it is far basically from everywhere. Although the notion of distance is quite discutable in this case, as from the airport located approximately in the centre of the island, the distance is more or less the same like to the Red beach.
The Cape Columbo beach stretches all over the north coast. On south-east, the coast is bordered by cliffs, which is what makes the Columbo beach unique. As it is difficult to access, it is usually not overcrowded, it has no equipement, only beautiful sceneries. You can only get there on foot. You can park your car on the verge of the beach though, and then walk down the slope. The beach surface is usually formed by dark grey sand and pebbles, and there are often huge waves.
