Agia Paraskevi Resort

The popular resort of Agia Paraskevi is located in a charming bay on the south of Skiathos only 40 km from the capital. It was named after a church of the same name that can be found near one of the beaches, which is where a religious feast day is celebrated every year to pay tribute to it.

Agia Paraskevi is an ideal place for summer relaxation on the sandy beach flooded by hot sun´s rays. The resort is visited mostly by families with children who like the fine goldish sand passing into calm and clean sea water. Therefore, bathing in the place is completely safe also for small children, non swimmers or those who are afraid of water. It is not exceptional to meet there couples of all age groups, too, on their romantic walks or idling on the coast. Those who are full of energy and need to vent it can indulge in water sports, like water skiing, yachting, riding a boat or paragliding. Those of a more patient nature can try fishing. If you like to go hiking, set off to the surroundings forests and groves, sloping down up to the coast with their flood of dark green vegetation.

Depending on your budget, you can stay both in luxury hotels but also in more economical rooms with self-catering. If you choose the second option, you should definitely not miss some of the local tavernas and taste some Greek speciality and local wine.

The possibilities of shopping in Agia Paraskevi are not really wide, and so, if you are looking for more than basic goods, foodstuffs or souvenirs, you need to set off to the capital (which can be found only a few kilometres away though). You can get there by bus or a boat taxi. Like this you will kill two birds with one stone - you will go on a nice trip and buy everything you need.

Entertainment

Don´t expect any bustling nightlife in Agia Paraskevi, as only some of the big hotels have their own night programme. After all, the resort doesn´t really belong to renowned party destinations. After the sunset, most visitors go to sit in tavernas and cafés, or for a walk. For more options of night merrymaking, you will need to go to the island capital located nearby.
