Platanias Resort

The summer holiday resort of Platanias is located midway between the more well-known resorts of Koukounaries and Agia Paraskevi on the indented south coast of Skiathos.

The beach in Platanias is long, covered with beautiful fine goldish sand, and, together with the stretch of clean blue waters of the slightly rippling sea and the surrounding green hills, it forms a perfect mosaic of a typical Greek island resort. Yet small children and less experienced swimmers should be really careful there, as the seabed is really steep and you find yourself in deep water really fast. Which is perfect for sportsmen though, and so, the offer of sports acitvities and boat rides is really wide there. In the resort you will also find refreshment facilities including beach tavernas and bars. On the very beach there is a little church, becoming the centre of celebrations in the mid-june.
