Agios Spiridon
Agios Spiridon Resort
This small original village with a peaceful atmosphere and two beautiful bays with a view on Albania is located in the north-east part of Corfu, near the resort of Almiros, on the verge of a nature reserve with a lagoon and protected marshes.
Tourist background and tips for trips
In the village surrounded by hills, you will find a few traditional tavernas, a small supermarket and the Agia Ekaterini monastery. This picturesque place is perfect for rest, especially when you don´t want to be disturbed by anyone; or to go for trips, e.g. to the nearby mount Pantokrator or the mysterious and abandoned village of Paleo Perithia. The local bays are perfect for diving, and when the weather is favourable, there are pleasure boats departing from the place, taking the visitors to the caves nearby. If you love nature, you can visit the local nature reserve which can be found really close to the local beach. There are many butterlfy, bird and fish species to be seen, just as many kinds of rare wild flowers.
Beach
Despite being a small village lacking background for tourists, Agios Spiridon has several kinds of beaches, including the small ones between the rocks but also a beautiful beach surrounded by rich vegetation with fine sand and crystal clear water. Like many others, this beach has also been awarded the EU Blue Flag for its cleanliness and top quality. It is equipped with umbrellas and deckchairs, and there are showers, toilets and changing cubicles. You can also borrow there a canoe and paddle along the beautiful coast.
