Marmari
Marmari Resort
The still developing but already very popular resort of Marmati can be found on the north-west coast of Kos a bit more than 10 km from the capital. Yet unlike the capital Marmari can offer much more peace and relaxation, since it is a small village that preserves its original character of a traditional Greek settlement. From its coast, you can see up to the Turkish mainland. Catering in the resort is based on deep-roted traditions, and so, in the local tavernas and restaurants, you will mostly receive fish specialities, seafood dishes, chicken and lamb meat, vegetables, and wine. Most of the restaurants are owned by the locals who take extra care to preserve the exclusivity of their meals and keep their guests satisfied.
Marmari beaches
The beach in Marmari as the main attraction of the resort is formed by a long coastal line of white sand washed by sky-blue waters of nice temperature. The seabed in Marmari slope down into the depth very gently, which is perfect for less experienced swimmers and families with children - who are, together with middle-aged and elderly couples, the most frequent visitors of Marmari. Nonetheless, given the short distance of the resort from the capital, it is not exceptional to see there young holidaymakers who set off to have fun to the island metropolis. The resorts is also good for sportsmen as it has good weather conditions for surfers and other fans of water sports who can indulge in the phantastic waves.
