Tigaki Resort

The nice and slowly developing resorts of Tigaki is located in the north of Kos only a few kilometres from the capital. It is quite a lively resort with a never-ending beach, exuberant green vegetation and plenty of colourful flowers that will delight the eyes not only of nature lovers.

The beach in Tigaki is the longest one on the island - it has incredible 10 kilometres. The seemingly never-ending stretch of fine sand forming long shallows on the coast is perfect for children´s activities. The water there is clean and crystal clear, and so, it is no wonder is has been awarded the EU Blue Flag for top quality several times. The favourable weather conditions will delight sportsmen who can indulge in swimming, windsurfing, yachting and other water pleasures. For the less experienced ones who want to gain some new experences, there are trained sports instructors.

What to do in Tigaki?

In the local tavernas and restaurants, try some of the local delicacies like fish, lamb meat or gyros, from drinks, you can taste local wine or the traditional Greek beverage ouzo. The local shops offer everything you need including souvenirs but also basic foodstuffs and articles of daily use. As far as accommodation is concerned, in Tigaki there is a variety of options including both luxury and economical ones. Nighlitfe in Tigaki is not really hilarious since people prefer to go on walks in the surroundings or sit over a tasty dish or drink. Despite that, there are several places where you can have fun till the dawn, but still you should better search for more night adventures in the capital. 

The beautiful surroundings of the resort are also tempting to go on trips whether on foot, on a bicycle, a motorbike or by car. You can visit e.g. the nearby marhses where you can observe flights of birds, or to some of the traditional villages untouched by tourism.
