Kamari
The Kamari Beach is located in the south-eastern part of Santorini, exactly fro mthe other side of the rock formation of Mesa Vouno. From one side towards the south, there stretches the Perissa Beach, while from the other side towards the north, you will encounter the Kamari Beach. The 2.5 km long beach is completely equipped, and there is a wide choice of water sports, beach bars and other kinds of entertainment. The beach is usually full of tourists but that iscompensated by the beauty of the whole area. In some places, it is 50 m wide, with a road/a colonnade along it with plenty of shops, tavernas and bars. The road is fringed by trees and enough vegetation, so the whole place gives a splendid impression. And when you add the contrast of the green vegetation, white buildings and black sand with the small pebbles on the beach, Kamari is a place you must visit during your stay on Santorini. On your way to Karmari you can also visit some of the many wine shops you will be passing by.
If you get weary of lying on the beach and you like walks, there is a path from karmari up to Mesa Vouno where you can spend some time visiting the important archaeological site and feast your eyes on the surroundings, including the beaches of Kamari and Perissa
And one more thing - although the northern part of the Karmari Beach is close to the aiport, the aircrafts are not really disturbing.
The Karmari Beach is followed by the Monolithos Beach in the north.
