Kokkari Resort

One of the largest and most popular resorts on Samos, Kokkari, attracts thousands of tourists every summer. It is located onthe north coast if the island, about 10 km from the capital, being suitable for all kinds of holidaymakers including families with small children, active young people, and elderly couples who love romanticism.

The low hills with stone pines and olive groves surrounding the resort allow the north winds to penetrate up to the beaches, thus providing ideal conditions for water sports, like surfing, for example. During the high season, restaurants and tavernas in Kokkari are ready to welcome all who are interested in traditional Greek cuisine. You will find there many family restaurants specializing e.g. in sea fish prepared in a variety of ways.

Generally speaking, nightlife on Samos is not really bustling, yet Kokkari is the proverbial exception proving the rule. From many of the tavernas, you will hear live music during the balmy evenings, while the discos are tempting the young people eager to dance till the morning hours. Those of a calmer nature can go on a romantic walk and listen to the soothing sound of the waves breaking against the coast.
