Amidst the fertile landscape of the south-eastern tip of Zakynthos, you will find the resort of Vassiliki, located only 10 km from the capital. What to do in Vassiliki?

The resort of Vassiliki lies on the coast of the Ionian Sea and is tempting its visitors to go on trips to visit the splendid beaches and discover the beauties of the untouched nature. The beaches are the biggest attraction of the resort, not mentioning they are considered to be among the most beautiful ones on the island: Agios Nikolaos, Banana Beach, Gerakas and Porto Zoro. They are a frequent target mainly of families with children and couples of all age groups. No matter which one you decide for, you certainly won´t be disappointed, they are all magnificent. And, above all, their surface is mostly covered with fine sand and they slope down into the water very gently, so the parents can let their children play on the coast with no worries. Also less experienced swimmers can dare to go further to the depth. On the other hand, those who are physically fit and want to feel some adrenaline can choose from the variety of water sports. Only you need to be careful about the areas where the sea turtles arrive to hatch their eggs as there are some limitations.

Those of an adventurous nature will be delighted about the picturesque surroundings. The best option is to rent a car, a motorbike or a scooter, and set off to explore the nature on your own. The dusty paths will take you through green groves and meadows along vineyards and orchards up to the mountains. If you know how to ride a horse, you can go on a horse as well. If you want to be comfortable though, you will appreciate the regular bus lines going to the capital.

Once you are Zakynthos and in Vassiliki, you should definitely not miss the Navagio Beach where you can sea a genuine wreck of a smuggler ship.
