Fourka
Fourka
With its only a few hundreds of inhabitants, the recreational resort of Fourka, although not being a typical resort in the true sense of the word, lies in a charming bay on the west cost of the Chalkidiki Peninsula. Everything in the place is concentraed around a small town or rather a village offering all the necessary background for the tourists to spend a perfect holiday.
What to do in Fourka
Fourka is a rather calm, not so busy resort on Chalkidiki. Despite that, there are enough services like shops with groceries, clothes and souvenirs, markets, tavernas and resturants; you will also find there a bakery, a disco and a car rental service. You can stay in some of the local hotels or private pensions. Once you get weary of idling on the beach, you can set off to explore the village and its surroundings with nice historical houses and churches. And this still doesn’t satisfy you, you can take a bus and go to other nearby resorts.
Fourka beach
The long beach from which you can sea up to the legendary Mount Olymp when the weather is favourable, is covered with sand and pebbles. Its scenery is completed by rocks and splendid blue crystal clear sea water. The place is also suitable to practice both water and ‘terrestrial’ sports (like beach volleyball, for example), and some of the accommodation facilities have a swimming pool with umbrellas, deckchairs and refreshment.
