Nea Moudania

The modern resort of Nea Moudania can be found in the south-west of the Chalkidiki Peninsula a little less than 30 km from the capital of Polygyros. It is a very popular resort with many tourists heading there every year, both Greeks and foreigners, with some of them travelling there regularly.

The local beach in a natural bay as the main attraction of the place is long and sandy, with a gentle entry into the sea, yet it can also be enjoyed by experienced swimmers. From the coast you can see up to the legendary Mount Olymp. There is a wide range of tourist services including rental service of umbrellas and deckchairs but also quality accommodation with gastronomic facilities, and water sports, including swimming, but also windsurfing, riding a paddle boat, water skiing, yachting in the local club or fishing. On land, you can play beach volleyball, fottball, tennis, or minigolf. The local landscape also has a lot to offer to the tourists - the nature there is full of olive groves, vineyards and coniferous forests sloipng down up to the coast and the hills.

What to do in Nea Moudania

From many places in the town, and especially from its highest point where the Virgin Mary Church is located, you can experience an unforgettable view on the surrounding landscape. On your way there, you can refresh yourself in some of the tavernas and bars, or buy something on the market or some of the little shops. Another place worth seeing is the pride of the resort - an open-air theatre where concerts for up to two thousand spectators are held. If you want to know something about history and geology, you can visit the local maritime or folklore museum. If you are lucky and are staying in Nea Mundania in the mid-July, you will experience the local foklore festival with traditional music and dance.

In Nea Moudania there is medical care available, including a vet, a pharmacy open at night, and a post office. There are quite a lot of posibilities to go shopping, too. From nea Moudiana, you can set off for trips to the surroundings both on land and by sea to some of the beautiful Greek islands.
